Dear Kickstarter Backers,
Good news! Boots are in Los Angeles and will be ready to ship by the first week of November. We will be verifying your order and shipping address. Also, we know some of you may wish to receive a refund and we’d be happy to accommodate that if you wish. Of course, we’d rather you be wearing our boots! An email will be going out in the coming couple of weeks to verify your shipping address or to give you information on how to receive your refund.

Update About the New-Generation Pakems

Thanks for your patience for the arrival of the next-generation Pakems shoes. They are still at the factory ready to ship. I am continuing to look for a partner, investor or any other way I can think of to buy the shoes and get them shipped. In case you missed the last update, with the Kickstarter funds and an investor’s capital investment, we paid the deposit owed to get the shoes manufactured. This investor agreed to pay the remainder due, however they had some unforeseen financial challenges arise and can no longer afford to pay the factory. Again, I am very sorry for this unfortunate set of circumstances that have impacted my ability to get the shoes shipped. I am happy to report that I have had some very promising conversations, but unfortunately it’s a slow process.
Based on the emails I’ve received, there is some confusion about the pre-sale I mentioned I was going to do on our website as a potential way to pay for all of the shoes at the factory. If I sell enough shoes, I can buy the entire inventory. There have been accusations that I have product and am selling that product on my website instead of shipping the shoes to you. I can assure you that’s not the case. On the website I make it clear it’s a pre-sale of backordered product that won’t ship until the future and I’m not charging credit cards until the shipment is on the way to our warehouse.
Further, there also seems to be confusion about the shoes that are being sold on Amazon. These are the few shoes I have left in inventory from the shoes that were produced in 2014 and are not the new ones that are at the factory.
Please understand I am trying to work through this situation as best I can with the bandwidth I have. I have chosen to devote my time to solving the issue at hand as opposed to defending myself, my decisions and my character. I believe this is in everyone’s best interest. Update About New-Generation Pakems

I truly appreciate your patience waiting for an update. For those individuals located in the US and took advantage of getting our current style Pakems for up to 70% off, all of the shoes have been shipped. Please let me know if you did not receive the shoes.
I have posted a video on YouTube about where I am with Pakems and getting the inventory shipped. I felt like I needed to put the truth out there for the world to see. Here is the link https://youtu.be/SMh2ZHXDF4k.
In a nutshell, with the Kickstarter funds and funds from an investor, I was able to pay the factory a deposit to begin production on 8,000 pairs of shoes. This investor agreed to pay for the remainder due to the factory. I did not raise enough on Kickstarter to have the boots produced because of the minimum order quantity required by the factory, but since the investor was going to fund the rest of the production, I moved forward with Kickstarter. Last week, the factory finished production, however, I recently learned that this investor ran into some financial difficulties and isn't able to pay for the remaining amount owed to the factory. I have been scrambling to find another investor or company to partner with and have had some promising conversations, but unfortunately today I don't have an answer as to when the shoes will ship.
I was wanting to send everyone an update with good news, but I understand the frustration I caused by not sending an update, so I felt it was time to deliver the difficult news. I remain very hopeful that I can figure this out soon. For those that ordered additional new-generation Pakems, I will not charge your credit card until the shoes are ready to ship to you.
I am devastated about what has transpired and am truly sorry for this unfortunate turn of events. My hope is that you appreciate my honesty, especially all that I shared in the video.

BackerKit Surveys are Finished!

The surveys have been created within BackerKit and we are now just waiting for final approval before they can be sent. Thanks again for your patience! Soon, you’ll receive an email from us with a special link to your BackerKit survey. It’s important to respond to your survey as quickly as you can since we need this information to fulfill your rewards.
You don’t need to create a BackerKit account to fill out your survey. When you receive the email with the survey, click the survey link to respond. Answer the questions about your reward preferences, provide shipping information, and purchase add-on items if you like.
After you respond to your survey, you can go back later and change your responses at any time before we close the surveys and get our final reward choices.
If you need to review your information or pledge status, you can return to your survey by clicking the link in your survey email or requesting your survey link under "Lost your survey?" on the BackerKit project page at https://pakems-lightweight-packable-shoe.backerkit.com.

Survey Update

I wanted to let you know that we decided to go a different route for the surveys rather than through Kickstarter. Kickstarter only allows one survey to be sent and I have learned it is a cumbersome process for backers when there are different sizes, styles and color options for a product. We have decided to spend the money to use Backerkit to make the process easier on our backers. This is a more involved setup process and is taking a little longer than expected. I can assure that no one has been harmed or negatively impacted by not receiving the survey sooner. The shoes are being made by the factory and you will receive them as soon as they get to our warehouse.
Also, because of the decision to use Backerkit, we can now offer anyone else that wants to buy our current model Pakems for $20 with free shipping and to ship as soon as the surveys are done and before we receive the new generation Pakems.
